The amazing team here at Dogs for Good makes our life-changing work possible. We’ll be introducing you to some of them over the coming weeks:

Name:
Tina

What’s your role at Dogs for Good?
Regional Fundraiser

What does that involve?
I look at developing new fundraising opportunities in my area which covers Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Shropshire, Herefordshire,  Staffordshire and Worcestershire, in addition to supporting our local fundraisers and supporter groups with their fundraising activities.

I develop new relationships in my area to engender support from small businesses and community groups, and liaise with our volunteers to ensure that events are covered to maximise awareness raising.

So I’m basically on the phone and writing proposal letters a lot. I also go out to events to represent the charity when we are chosen as Charity of the Year.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The diversity and the people that I work with and support.

What did you do before this role?
Before joining the Dogs for Good team I’d done a variety of admin roles, but prior to that I had my own business in tourism.

Do you have your own dog?
I have two Chocolate Labradors, Henry who is 11 months old and nicknamed “the juvenile” and 12 year old Tess who’s a couch potato with the odd walk thrown in for good measure!

What’s your favourite dog walk?
Walking across fields and woods close to the village that I live in, often we will glimpse a Muntjac or deer and the dogs always enjoy a dip in the river Itchen, it’s such a peaceful place.

Do you have any hobbies?
I own a horse so that keeps me busy when not out with the dogs.

What’s your proudest achievement?
Setting up the first Equine Assisted Therapy programme in Jamaica, and working with at risk adolescent children and recovering alcoholics and drug addicts.
