Our community dogs are specially-trained activity and therapy dog working alongside our Community Dog Handlers to help people with a range of needs to overcome challenges and develop life skills.  

We’re on the lookout for a volunteer who can commit to providing a long-term, secure and loving home for a dog to rest and enjoy life when they are not with their handler. In return, we offer full training, guidance and support in caring for one of our dogs on a day to day basis. 

We’re currently looking for a volunteer home in one of the following areas:  

Cumbernauld, Royston, Stepps, Lenzie, Moodiesburn, Chryston or Croy.

What does the role involve? 

  • Commitment to provide a long-term home for a dog
  • Care for a dog in-line with Dogs for Good principles of training and guidance from the handler
  • Current driving licence and regular access to a vehicle to transport a dog
  • A fully fenced (minimum 5ft) safe and secure garden
  • A quiet and comfortable living space for a dog to rest in the home
  • Access to an outdoor space, suitable for a daily free run
  • Children in the home should ideally be over two years of age

Dogs for Good covers all the costs for caring for a dog throughout their working lives.
