Care for a dog in training and help them get ready for their important new role.
We offer a variety of ways to support our dogs in training through boarding. Whether it’s providing temporary care during the week or helping when our regular boarders need support, your time makes a real difference.
Perfect for people who love dogs but can’t commit full-time. As a Temporary Boarder, you’ll care for one of our dogs in training during the evenings and weekends, dropping them off at our Banbury centre during the working day.
You’ll have guidance from our expert trainers, plus all food and vet bills covered. It’s a flexible and rewarding way to enjoy the company of a dog while helping them take the next step towards their working life.
You have a safe, secure garden (with fencing at least 5ft high).
There are no more than two pet dogs at home — both settled and part of your family for at least six months.
Any children in your household are aged two or over.
You’re comfortable around dogs and cats living together.
You can attend a short training session at our Banbury centre before welcoming your first dog.
Studley was with us for about four months during his training. He was an absolute superstar, everybody loved him. We know he’s going to make an incredible difference to his client’s life but also for us, it’s the difference it makes having a dog to look after. Getting us out, walking a dog, making us go out every day.
Maddie is one of our volunteer Temporary Boarders - or Bed and Breakfast Boarder as it's sometimes known! The cuddles and companionship Maddie gets from our dog Karma are a lovely bonus in return for the wonderful support her volunteering provides.
If you’re curious about volunteering and want to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.
