Community dog walk and picnic

A community dog walk is a brilliant way to bring people together outdoors while raising funds for Dogs for Good. It’s relaxed, friendly and a lovely reminder of how much joy and connection dogs can spark.

Ideas and inspiration

Choose a local route you love - a park loop, woodland trail, canal path or village walk, and invite people to join you for a gentle group stroll.

Set a clear meeting point, let everyone know the distance and pace, and finish at a spot where people can enjoy a picnic or a warm drink together.

You could add small moments of fun along the way, like a photo stop, a “best tail wag” moment or a simple scavenger list for families. Some fundraisers like to create optional extras, such as selling homemade dog treats, hosting a short Q&A with a local trainer or encouraging walkers to share stories of the dogs who mean the most to them.

Done well, it becomes more than a wall, it becomes a shared experience that celebrates the bond between people and dogs.
