Growing puppy
As our puppies grow, they're cared for by our Puppy Socialisers as they start to learn new things and explore the world with confidence.

The focus is on routine and consistency. They start their house training, are introduced to a range of people, environments and other animals, and are taught their name, how to sit and lie down.
Our puppies’ training begins to take place in ‘real-life’ situations. They’re taught to walk on a loose lead in their local town, ensuring they can come back when called, and learn how to settle in busy environments.
At around 12 months old, our young dogs come into our training centre for a kennel break, to help familiarise them with the centre before they begin their formal training. They stay for around a week while our Puppy Coordinators spend time getting to know them - taking them for free runs and, of course, playing games!
Regular one-to-one visits, group meetings and puppy classes are organised by our Puppy Coordinators. They provide tailored support for our Socialisers and ensure our puppies are on their way to becoming life-changing dogs.
Our growing puppies live with our volunteer Puppy Socialisers, who look after them until they're ready to start formal training. Socialisers care for our puppies’ wellbeing, including carrying out routine health checks, ensuring they’re the correct weight, and grooming.
