All sorts of clubs, societies, and groups meet every week up and down the country. Whether it’s football or netball practice, the WI, a gardening group or history group, scouts, brownies, or a get-together at someone’s house, hot dogs go down a treat in autumn.
One of the tastiest Dogtober events, all you need to do is choose a date when you meet in October, supply hot dogs, and ask for a donation from anyone who eats one.

How to make the tastiest hot dogs
Hot dogs are easy to prepare because you can grill, bake, boil, fry, or even poach different kinds of sausage. Offer vegetarian sausages if you’ve veggies or vegans in the group.
You could even surprise your guests with twisted Tornado Hot Dogs. (If you’ve not heard of them, chances are, they haven’t either.)
And if you need to satisfy a hungry crowd, go to town on sauces and toppings:
- Tomato sauce
- Garlic mayonnaise
- Fried onions
- Grated cheese
- Pickles relish
- Avocado (really!)
If that doesn’t make your mouth water, we don’t know what will.
