The amazing team here at Dogs for Good makes our life-changing work possible. We’ll be introducing you to some of them over the coming weeks:

Name:
Alix

What’s your role at Dogs for Good?
Regional Fundraiser (North)

What does that involve?
Regional Fundraisers liaise with any person or group who wants to fundraise for Dogs for Good in their area. My area covers the whole of the North of England and Scotland, so this could range from a school child doing a bake sale, to a local business choosing us as their charity of the year.

I also look for opportunities, such as talks, collections and events where we can raise money and promote the wonderful work we do. It’s very rewarding as I get to speak to a variety of people every day and no day is the same.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing for me is when you see our volunteers make friends for life through the charity (people and dogs!)

What did you do before this role?
I worked for Wowcher! I was also a fundraising coordinator when I was at University.

Do you have your own dog?
I don’t, but I have a hamster called Dam.

What’s your favourite walk?
Along on the beach on the Wirral Peninsula where I grew up.

Do you have any hobbies?
I have recently taken up gardening and spend a lot of time growing vegetables these days! I also enjoy cycling and volunteer in my spare time for a mental health charity.

What’s your proudest achievement?
Getting my dream job!
