Mince pies are creeping into tea breaks, advent calendars have made it down to eye level in the shopping aisles, and TV adverts have all started to get a bit ‘jingly’.  It’s the season of giving, but did you know that you can give to charity for free this Christmas?

You can donate to us while you’re shopping and it won’t cost you a penny! We promise it’s super-simple and we’ve pulled together a guide to our top ways to give for free to help you get started:

Amazon Smile

  • Go to: smile.amazon.co.uk from your computer, tablet or mobile phone
  • Log into your account (or create one if you’ve not got one already)
  • Select Dogs for Good as your chosen charity
  • Get shopping!
  • Once you have paid for your items Amazon will donate a percentage of your shop to us automatically – Amazing!

High street retailers

Both sites work in pretty much the same way (the participating retailers differ slightly) so really, it’s down to personal choice as to which one works best for you. Here’s how:

eBay for Charity

give to charity for free this ChristmasWe’ve all had them, the Christmas gift that wasn’t quite what you wanted and now you don’t know what to do with it. Well, eBay may be your answer. The great news is that you can list on eBay for Charity, a programme that allows you to sell items on eBay to benefit charities, including Dogs for Good.

All you need to get started is an eBay account and register a PayPal Giving account.  You can decide to give between 10% and 100% of your sale to your chosen charity and while there is a listings fee, in order to support your generosity eBay gives you a pro-rated fee credit to your account.  You can even gift-aid your donation, allowing Dogs for Good to get an extra 25p for every £1 you donate.

To find out how it all works, simply visit eBay’s selling for charity webpages.

Pets at Home VIP

give to charity for free this ChristmasLast, but by no means least in our donate for free guide is our corporate partner Pets at Home which offers something slightly different but equally as simple to sign up to.

When you sign up to the Pets at Home VIP club, every time you buy something in-store or online for your pets (including those all important Christmas treats) you can earn points for us.  Pets at Home then automatically convert all our points into vouchers that they send to us, which we can use to buy everything from harnesses to toys for our lovely dogs.

So, nominate Dogs for Good as your chosen charity while you’re shopping and for every penny you spend you’ll give to charity for free this Christmas, helping us continue to train more dogs to make life-changing differences to those that need them.  Happy Christmas!
