Scope of this statement
This statement applies to all Dogs for Good operations and refers to the Financial Year 2025/26
Our organisation
- Dogs for Good is a charity based in Banbury, with employees working in the office, remotely or on a hybrid arrangement.
- We’re managed by a board of 11 trustees, and five directors.
- Our employees work in the UK only.
- We occasionally work with contractors who are self-employed or are engaged through an agency.
Definitions
Dogs for Good considers that modern slavery encompasses:
- Human trafficking.
- Forced work, through mental or physical threat.
- Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse of the threat of abuse.
- Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property.
- Being physically constrained or having restrictions placed on freedom of movement.
Policy
In addition to this statement, Dogs for Good has a Modern Slavery policy in place.
Commitment
We acknowledge our responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commit to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Dogs for Good does not knowingly enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
No labour provided to Dogs for Good in respect of our own operations is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. We strictly adhere to the minimum standards required in relation to our responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the UK, and in many cases exceed those minimums in relation to our employees.
Potential Exposure
Due to the nature of our organisation, Dogs for Good considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be relatively limited. supply chains, we procure goods and services from a small number of UK and overseas suppliers.
Dogs for Good follows safe recruitment principles, including identity, Right To Work and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.
This statement is made in pursuance of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will be reviewed for each financial year.
